{ the flour incident }
Posted on April 1, 2012
So, what does a parent do when they walk around the corner to find this spectacle? Why, you let the excited one and six year olds go crazy and roll around playing in the flour for the next 30 minutes. Of course, Miss Eliza had to dress up to make the photos internet safe and we managed to slap a nappy on her … and Addie had to get almost nakey, because what fun is rolling around in flour fully clothed? LOL!
We could have been frustrated with the mess but as we usually do we instead just embrace their joy and play along with them … it was FUN!!! You can see at one point Junebug was terribly upset about the flour that went down her nappy.
I sneakily watched and snapped a few shots before letting her know she was “caught.”
If you enjoy my little, rambling blog, and have a second (literally), I would so appreciate it if you could pretty please click the banner below to vote for me (and thank you so much if you do!) … each click you make is your vote – heck, you can even vote every day, LOL!

I LOVE it Annie!! You are such a great rolemodel as a mother. I know I would have been so frustrated with that mess (even though I would have taken pics too!
) but to read that you instead joined in the fun, I love that. We all need to be more like that.
LOL, oh I had eggs all over my living room and dining room last month, AND ended up on Funniest Home Videos because of it! We can only laugh, and put ourselves in their shoes… can you imagine how fun it would have been to crack TWO DOZEN eggs all at once when you are only 2?! Oh my Leo…
OMG that is just too cute!
I have some similar footage of my grand baby Mia with a tube of toothpaste…you just can’t help but giggle and enjoy the moment!
Beautiful. Bravo for letting them live in that messy fun, those are the kind of things that stick in their happy tank.
Well this spectacle made for some great shots! Love them!
Like momma always said, “don’t cry over spilt milk.”
Thanks for being an example of someone who enjoys the simple things in life and doesn’t sweat a little mess kids make!
Goodness those are sweet (or powerdery) memories of the free spirits children are. Love it!
I love it
Today I made cupcakes with my son… and he dropped his flat on the floor, icing side down. He pouted and then to make himself feel better (I suppose) he stepped on and it squished it! LOL How could I be mad?
I have a few photos like these, powdered sugar it was.. she even had some right on the tip of her nose…priceless! I love looking at your photos!
Oh, I really love watching these priceless photos of your kid.
I am in love with your blog! Not only are your pictures just breathtaking! But your letting your daughter roll around in the flour…well I just adore it! I have 4 kids. Boys 17 and 14 and girls 3 and 1. And we love messes too!
What a fun little mess. I’m trying my best to relax and let my little adventurer get crazy with messy eating on her own. This kind of play fun will definitely be a Daddy fun day… or at best something I’ll play with the baby outside. You’re a brave mama. so glad I found your blog today.

Check out this site, http://yourtravelvideos.com/ Your Travel Videos is a collection of links to videos and other internet resources on places to stay, restaurants and things to do. The cool thing about the site though is that you can make money off videos you have made, or also from videos that are already out there on the web. It’s a great opportunity for mothers, you can do this from the comfort of your own home. It is 100% free so there is no risk to check it out and join.
Thank you for your wonderful site! It gave me a great emotion for the all day. I think I will be your constant reader.

Amazing. Freedom tastes exactly like this! My mum would kill me.
Hope I’m not gonna be the same, because it’s nice when mum isn’t a “mum” for a minute and just enjoys the fun with their children.
Your photos are absolutely beautiful! I love that you were able to sneak in a few clicks of the camera unnoticed. I will definitely have to keep this activity in mind for a rainy day. Soo cute!
I miss those days. My kids would drop everything on the floor and have fun with it. Flours are their favorite.
