I am adoring watching the interaction between the girls as Eliza gets older and can try and really keep up with her very hyper older sis. Eliza constantly has her eye on Adeline, watching and studying her every move. And she thinks Addie is HIL-AR-IOUS! Addie has to simply look at Eliza in a funny way and it sends Eliza into hysterical fits of giggles. Scott and I can both jump around making fools of ourselves trying to get a chuckle and – nothing. Addie can make her laugh by just chewing her food. LOL!

Our little wiener doggie, Penelope.

I just love how Eliza holds her little hands up in the air when she walks. And, yes, I refuse to iron kid’s clothes! I don’t even buy stuff for myself that needs to be ironed, so when something comes out of the drier like that poor wrinkled dress it stays like that until the wrinkles decide to work themselves out. LOL!

Always peeking around and watching her sis …

And a very concentrated look – again watching Adeline, who was busy doing big girl things like climbing trees and zipping around on her bike.

We took a little walk around Scott’s new office (right on the water, the lucky duck). News to come about Scott’s new job soon! I was playing with my tilt-shift lens here … focusing on those precious, dimpled little knees because they make my heart melt. And, yep, the rest is supposed to be blurred … Scott hates my tilt-shift but I love the creative look and how it can throw all the attention just where you want it.
I adore capturing those sweet little details in babyhood that change and disappear all too quickly.

We decided on Father’s Day to take a little spur of the moment trip to the beach. It’s a sad thing that we live only an hour away from a gorgeous coast, have beautiful places to stay whenever we wish (thanks to Scott’s parents!) and yet Eliza has never seen the waves or felt the sand between her toes. So, off we went … only we take FOREVER to get ready for vacations, and doing it with no planning ahead of time is even worse – we are like a circus trying to get organized and out the door.
We finally got my mom and her dogs installed at our place as house sitters and out the door we went … arriving here at midnight. LOL! And because taking the girls somewhere new is like giving a junkie their drug of choice, once we arrived they were like wild animals running around screaming and giggling. This was made worse by the allure of empty space … we had to move the sofa in front of the stairs to keep baby away and it seems that giving kids a big empty room to run in is irresistible to them … heck, even I was a little giddy and did my own happy dance around the room with them.
Yesterday was Eliza’s first time on the beach and while she was a bit wary of the whole experience at first, by the time we left she was practically rolling in the sand (and, yes, tasting it). I couldn’t get enough of those cute toes covered in sand, and had to snap some shots before I got down and dirty with the girls (Addie was knee deep in a hole she dug most of the time). We have a really FUN beach shoot planned this week … even Addie has been helping make things for it (love it when picture time is really PLAY time – even my husband is excited about this one, ha!). Right now the little miss is nursing and sleeping in my arms, all tuckered out. There will be a lot more beach shots to come for those who don’t get bored of them.

Notice the remnants of her sandy snack …

She resorted to crawling again when she decided this walking in sand stuff was too precarious …

The girls … and Eliza eating something else that isn’t food again.

What on earth is all over my hands?!

Both girls had this very serious game face when exploring some new kind of play as babies … and aren’t those squishalicious little legs just too cute?!

And, I couldn’t get enough of her feet!

And afterwards they are too tired, so mama carries them both …

Okay … I will stop with the photo overload! We still have the rest of the week to enjoy, so I’m sure there will be more to share! Ha!

I’ve decided to start documenting our daily walks as a family. We try to get out in the summer evenings every day and just enjoy each other … Addie races and skips and is her usual goofball self, just amped up a notch or two … miss Eliza loves being outside and is just starting to want to take a stab at walking along with us (sob! she still loves being in the sling or carried in my arms most of the time, thank goodness). At the end of summer I want to do a little album of all our time together enjoying each other.
My silly little goofball … always jumping, dancing, full of JOY.

And little Miss Eliza June is following in her footsteps, and dare I say even more outgoing and bubbling over with smiles and sunshine than Addie was at this age.
Skipping, running, always bursting at the seams!
A rare more serious expression for Junebug.
And a tiny 3 week old miniature horse filly for a little “Awwwwww” factor (she is about as tall as Eliza!) … upcoming photo session featuring this baby, her mama and a bunch of cute kiddos with some golden sun flare to be posted soon. This little baby actually belongs to Adeline’s BFF and our dear friends … if you think the baby horse is cute, wait till you see their kiddos! LOL!! Processed with Paint the Moon, of course.
